Check-in is where attendance data starts. A member scans a code, taps an app, or gets marked in at the desk, and the software logs it. That record feeds attendance reports, retention alerts and, in staffed models, payroll. In 24-hour gyms, check-in is tied directly to access control so only active members get through the door.
